The Government of Canada and Government of Saskatchewan are providing $9.4M towards crop-related research, in addition to $5.4 from industry partners. The funding supports 53 approved research projects including mapping soil sequestration, examining alternative genetic mechanics for resistance, and effects to prevent osteoporosis and bone fracture.

The Government of Saskatchewan released KPMG’s Economic Analysis for the Westside Irrigation Rehabilitation Project, showing the project is expected to generate 30,000 person years of employment overall, 9,500 jobs during construction, and $770M in tax revenue to the government. The project involves irrigating up to 90,000 acres of land.
The City of Prince Albert announced it will soon be recruiting lifeguards to staff its new recreation centre. The centre is half completed and is slated to open in 2025.
