Habitations Logis-vie, a non-profit organization, announced the construction of 10 affordable and specially adapted housing units for people with intellectual disabilities in Trois-Rivières. The project, valued at over $4.9M, is scheduled to be complete in the summer of 2025.
The Gribouillis childcare centre in Louiseville is receiving more than $3M from Quebec's ministère de la Famille for its construction. The childcare centre will have 60 spaces for the children of employees at the Canadel company, which is a local furniture manufacturer.
The Petits Collégiens childcare centre received $4.6M from the ministère de la Famille to construct a new building in Trois-Rivières. The centre will have 80 spots available for the children of students and employees at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières in the spring of 2025.
Appartements Libère-Toit, a 32-unit social housing complex for people living with mental health challenges, has been inaugurated in La Tuque. This $14.2M project is made possible by support from all three levels of government.
The Sittelle, a private retirement home in Trois-Rivières, will close in February 2025. The facility has around 20 employees.E12:E41
The Conseil des Atikamekw de Wemotaci began construction on a new seniors’ home with 20 rooms on their reserve. The $9.9M project should be complete in December 2024. The first residents will be welcomed in the spring of 2025.
