Education: Bachelor's degree. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Estimating. Quantity surveying. Tasks: Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs. Prepare pre-qualification submissions to present clients . Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Prepare master format estimates (Class A). Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets and bids forms. Utilize quantity take-off procedures. Analyze tenders and recommend awards. Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors. Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates. Tender and administer contracts. Prepare bids. Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates. Read blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Computer and technology knowledge: Take-off packages. MS Excel. Type of experience: Commercial and/or industrial construction. Project size estimating experience: $8,000,001 +. Area of work experience: Purchasing, procurement and contracts.
