Assistant Program Coordinator (Health & Fitness)(Permanent, Part-Time 0.8)Located on the traditional, ancestral and unceded lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, West Vancouver is a vibrant community on the North Shore and home to parks, beaches, and to sports, recreation and arts amenities. We are seeking employees with a passion for public service who share our commitment to creating a complete, inclusive and livable community.The West Vancouver Parks, Culture & Community Services Department has an opening for a permanent, part-time Assistant Program Coordinator - Health & Fitness. Reporting to the Program Coordinator (Health & Fitness), this position will be:Assisting with supervising, training, and mentoring kinesiologists, personal trainers, and group fitness instructors; Assisting with developing, organizing, and coordinating personal training, group fitness, active rehabilitation programs and special events; Providing administrative assistance and handling customer service inquiries; Instructing active rehabilitation classes as required; Assuming responsibility for facility and program operations as required; and, Other related duties as needed.The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player with excellent customer service skills, extensive experience in both rehab and active rehabilitation instruction, and personal training.The preferred candidate will possess Standard First Aid, CPR-C and AED; certifications equivalent to BCRPA Registered Personal Training and/or registration with the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK); Degree or Diploma in Recreation or other related field; BSc in Kinesiology would be considered an asset; Strong knowledge of RecStaff, ActiveNet, and Microsoft applications; and a strong background in prehab, active rehab, and personal training.The successful candidates will have a valid BC Driver?s license and will be required to supply an acceptable police information check and a copy of their credentials.This posting does not list all the duties of the position, nor does it fully detail the required skills, knowledge and abilities, licenses and certificates required of candidates.
