You will promote health and wellness related programs and services and provide advice, guidance and referral services relative to health, fitness and wellness matters.ABOUT YOUYou are a courteous and effective team player committed to community. You are reliable, responsive to customer needs and excellent at building relationships. You will promote interest and participation in fitness activities while ensuring safe use of weight room equipment. You have a sound knowledge of the principles, practices and objectives of fitness and weight training programs and experience with various types of fitness and weight training equipment. You are able to evaluate fitness levels, develop individual fitness programs, develop and lead small group training programs, and fitness workshops.QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTSCompletion of a university program and related experience providing Fitness Centre services, including rehabilitation, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License. Emergency First Aid certification or equivalent and CPR Level A. BCRPA Registered Personal Trainer or approved equivalent.All employees will be available to work at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture location. All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a requirement of the position. This is an auxiliary on-call position involving shift work including days, evenings and weekends.
