Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Professionalism in customer service. Load and unload goods. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : AZ class license. Air Brakes Endorsement. Air Brake (Z) Endorsement. Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports. Bill of lading. Driver logbook. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Maintenance and repair reports. Trans-border documentation. Trip reports. Type of trucking and equipment: Flatbed. Tractor-trailer. Transportation/travel experience: International. Long-haul. Provincial/territorial. Security and safety: Valid passport. Driving record check (abstract). Drug test. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Willing to travel cross-border. Willing to travel for extended periods. Willing to travel overnight.
