Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles or other masonry units. Estimate materials, tools and equipment required for projects . Lay bricks, stone or similar materials to provide veneer facing. Construct and install prefabricated masonry units. Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages. Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools. Lay bricks or other masonry units to build residential or commercial chimneys and fireplaces. Restore, clean or paint existing masonry structures. Supervision: Bricklayers. Cleaning experience: Brick and stone building exteriors. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Safety equipment/gear. Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Screening questions: Are you authorized to work in Canada?.
