Toronto based Building Restoration / General Contracting company is seeking a motivated team player to fulfill the role of Estimator who will work closely with upper management, Project Managers and Estimating Department to prepare takeoffs for various industrial, commercial and, institutional restoration projects. Tasks: * Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to develop accurate cost estimates. * Manage scheduling deadlines, prepare tenders and request for proposals * Analyze scope of work requirements for each project * Prepare detailed proposals and bid packages for submission to clients. * Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive pricing. * Review specifications and identify finish schedules of open tenders * Assist with preparing quantity takeoffs and costing, pricing of work and material and tender preparation * Participate in field visits and pre-tender meetings * Reviewing and understanding contract documents * Collect all pertinent data and information for each job to be quoted * Liaise with general contractors, project managers and suppliers * Assist internally with the team with bid awards to confirm specifications and material quantities * File and organize internal project documents Requirements: * 3+ years background experience in construction * Extremely detailed and highly organized * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail. * Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. * Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines. * Strong computer literacy including estimating software skills * Knowledge of AutoCAD is a bonus * Must have Valid G Licence and provide a Drivers Abstract. * Ability to obtain a security clearance for Federal & Provincial Sites Work Location: In person Interviews are conducted in person only.
