Job details
Education: Bachelor's degree. Tasks: Evaluate daily operations . Select and employ trade subcontractors and co-ordinate their activities. Inspect subcontractors work to ensure quality and conformity with plans and specifications. Plan and manage budgets. Prepare estimates and bids for home construction, renovation and restoration projects. Work with customers, architects and engineers regarding plans and specifications. Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors. Negotiate offers from suppliers. Hire and supervise activities of subcontractors. Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates. Coordinate work activities to ensure commercial or residential projects meet requirements, budget and deadlines properties. Area of specialization: Project management. Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for youth. Support for Indigenous people: Facilitates access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers . Support for mature workers: Provides staff with awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers . Supports for visible minorities: Applies hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities (for example: anonymizing the hiring process, etc.).
