Summerhill Market is a boutique grocery store chain in Toronto that specializes in scratch-made prepared foods and on-trend ingredients. Our stores go above and beyond a typical grocery store by offering an extensive rotating selection of ready to eat gourmet meals, freshly baked goodies, and curated hard to find groceries. Summerhill Market is looking for a Commercial Delivery Driver to join our team. Our Commercial Driver is responsible for picking up and delivering goods between our production facility, Ontario food terminal and stores in a timely fashion while maintaining safety and ensuring the integrity of our products within their transport cases. Key Responsibilities - Operate a delivery truck in compliance with traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies. - Ensure that the vehicle is loaded and unloaded safely and according to company guidelines, securing all items for transport. - Experience in building and wrapping skids ready for delivery. - Assist in checking inventory for accuracy and ensuring goods are delivered as ordered. - Communicate with the logistics team or dispatcher for updates on delivery progress or issues encountered. - Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and inspection procedures. The ideal candidate will have a G license, experience driving a 3300 kg, 26-foot box truck or larger, be physically fit, be able to prioritize tasks and maintain calm under pressure. We cannot understate the physical nature of this job. While you will be using pump trucks, a hydraulic tailgate and wheeled bins and carts, the job demands a certain level of fitness to succeed. You must also be able to work independently and be able to follow a schedule closely. Must present a current clean driver's abstract.
