Job Overview: Are you a certified Machinist looking to take your skills to the next level? Skipper Fisheries Ltd, based in beautiful Nova Scotia, is seeking a dedicated Machinist to join our team. In this hands-on role, you'll be integral in fabricating and repairing custom parts that keep our operations running smoothly. If you're passionate about quality, safety, and precision, this is the opportunity for you! What You'll Do: * Precision Machining: Operate mills, lathes, and other equipment to create custom mechanical parts * Blueprint Analysis: Read and interpret engineering drawings to determine machining operations * Component Fabrication & Repair: Restore and fabricate custom parts that meet operational needs * Team Collaboration: Work closely with a supportive team to maintain operational excellence * Maintain Safety Standards: Actively promote and comply with company safety protocols and encourage safety awareness. Requirements What's Most Important * Journeyman Machinist Certification (Red Seal preferred) or equivalent experience * Strong skills in blueprint reading, layout, and manual machining * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate in a cold environment * Able to work in cold environments and wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) * Physically capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs * Able to climb, crouch, and work.
