*Job Title: *Microbiologist III or Microbiologist IV *Accountable To: *Laboratory Supervisor *Education:* M.Sc., or Ph.D., in Microbiology or related Biological Sciences. *Description: * * Responsible for planning, scheduling, and the timely and on-budget delivery of contract research in accordance with contract requirements and company policies, procedures and guidelines. * Responsible for the design and completion of study protocols, as part of the company?s internal research program. * Participates in laboratory meetings. * Keeps accurate records of work carried out, and processes and organizes the resulting data. * Prepares reagents, samples, and solutions. * Maintains inventories of laboratory supplies. * Cleans/maintains/calibrates/operates laboratory equipment on a routine basis; documents actions related to laboratory apparatus, equipment, glassware, instruments, and safety devices; and notifies supervisor when repair or service is needed. * Trains and supervises laboratory technicians and laboratory assistants, as required. * Upholds and practices the company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook. *Skills required:* · 3-5 years of experience in microbiology. · Trained in laboratory techniques and procedures. · Must be proficient in Microsoft Office: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Strong organizational skills. *Preferred skills:* · Experience working with microbial biofilms and/or a broad range of microorganisms · Experience working with fungi. · Experience growing microorganisms under a variety of conditions including aerobic, CO2, microaerophilic and anaerobic conditions.
