Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Read blueprints to determine dimensions of structure or system and material requirements. Assist in developing engineering specifications and drawings. Participate in field surveys, inspections or technical investigations. Prepare construction specifications, costs and material estimates. Prepare engineering designs and drawings. Supervise or conduct field surveys, inspections, technical investigations and testing of construction materials. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Certification by a provincial or territorial association. Computer and technology knowledge: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. AutoCAD. MS Excel. MS Outlook. MS Word. Civil engineering experience: Drainage and irrigation system. Pipelines. Roads and highways. Sewers and sewage treatment facilities. Water control system and structures. Area of specialization: Land planning and development. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Leadership. Client focus. Efficient interpersonal skills.
