Our Red Deer Practice is growing and we looking for another amazing Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team! We are a progressive, paperless office with high standards of care for both our patients and employees. We are looking for a team player who is enthusiastic about the ever-changing field of dentistry. Our team has a strong focus on periodontal health and the oral systemic connection. We do a variety of procedures including implant placement, soft tissue surgery and IV sedation. The position is Part-Time, with evenings and weekends included. Experience preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate. *Duties:* - Perform dental cleanings to remove plaque, tartar, and stains from teeth - Take dental x-rays and assist with other diagnostic procedures as needed - Conduct thorough oral examinations to assess the overall oral health of patients - Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for maintaining good oral health - Administer local anesthesia and apply fluoride treatments as necessary - Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments and ensuring patient comfort - Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical documentation and treatment plans - Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff - Stay up to date with advancements in dental technology and techniques *Qualifications:* - Valid Dental Hygiene license in Ontario - Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program - Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, oral health conditions, and treatment options - Proficiency in dental assisting techniques and procedures - Experience working in a dental office setting preferred - Familiarity with Dental software, medical imaging systems, and patient assessment tools is a plus - Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients on oral health practices effectively - Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records - Commitment to following infection control protocols and maintaining a safe working environment We offer competitive compensation based on experience.
