*The Role*
As our Bookkeeper, you?ll play a central role in managing and optimizing our financial operations. Reporting directly to the President, you?ll be a key contributor to our leadership team, providing the insights and accuracy we need to scale our business effectively. *Key Responsibilities*
In this role, you?ll oversee the end-to-end financial operations of our organization, ensuring we remain financially sound and well-positioned for growth. Your responsibilities will include:
? Full-Cycle Bookkeeping: Take ownership of all bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management.
? Financial Reporting: Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, offering actionable insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
? Payroll Management: Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with Canadian regulations and maintaining employee satisfaction.
? Budgeting & Forecasting: Partner with the President to develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to drive growth and operational efficiency.
? Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, preparing detailed projections to ensure financial stability.
? Tax Compliance: Handle GST/HST filings, payroll remittances, and other tax obligations, ensuring compliance with Canadian laws and regulations.
? Data Integration: Coordinate and verify the accurate transfer of all monthly transactions between our internal management software system and QuickBooks.
? Banking & Treasury Management: Oversee banking relationships, manage reconciliations, and utilize tools like ScotiaConnect to optimize banking operations.
? System Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and implement best practices.
? Audit Preparation: Lead the preparation for external audits, ensuring all documentation and records are accurate and accessible.
? Documentation: Maintain impeccable financial records, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
*What We?re Looking For*
We?re seeking an ambitious, detail-oriented professional who combines technical expertise with a passion for excellence. The ideal candidate will bring:
? Education: Diploma or degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
? Experience: At least 5 years of progressive bookkeeping experience, ideally within a multi-location or service-based organization.
? Technical Skills:
* Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data analysis).
* Experience with ScotiaConnect or similar banking platforms is a strong asset.
? Expertise:
* In-depth knowledge of Canadian accounting principles, payroll regulations, and tax compliance.
* A proven track record of maintaining accurate and organized financial records.
