Drumlin Plasma is a Canadian plasma pheresis company. We are proud to be a leading provider of high-quality plasma globally. Drumlin specializes in supplying plasma to producers of in vitro diagnostics (IVD) test kits that diagnose individuals with bleeding disorders.
*Overview *
We are growing!!! As we grow, we are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the small team at our plasma collection center in a Full-Time role! The ideal candidate will have experience in various medical settings including emergency medical aid.
Our center is open Monday to Saturday so working the odd Saturday is expected.
The Physician Substitute works under the guidance of a remote Medical Director to serve as the designated medical authority for Drumlin Plasma Inc.
*Key Responsibilities: *
The Physician Substitute will be responsible for training, competency assessments and
guiding medical procedures to donor screening and phlebotomy staff.
*Duties include: *
· Physical Examinations of donors
· Providing counselling for donors in the case of positive test results
· Providing education to donors (maintaining a healthy diet)
· Counselling donors on the plasma pheresis procedure and obtaining donor-informed consent
· Acting quickly to provide medical aid in case of donor adverse event reactions
· Observing the donor floor to ensure plasmapheresis procedures are moving smoothly and providing expertise when they are not.
· Guiding donor screening staff and phlebotomists, overseeing donor screening and suitability assessments as required.
· Effectively communicating with the Medical Director regularly.
*Qualifications and Skills *
* You are a RN- Registered Nurse with an active license in the operating province of Nova Scotia, Canada.
* You have at least two (2) years of experience with general medical procedures
* You have the ability to lead, train and communicate with a team of medical staff
* You have the ability to follow GMP procedures, documentation requirements
*Beneficial Skills (not required but would be helpful): *
· Emergency medical aid experience
· Plasmapheresis Procedure
