Our mission is to deliver top-quality preventative maintenance and project services, safeguarding our clients? people and properties Reports To: Finance Manager Role Type: Hybrid of Financial Reporting and Management Accounting *Financial Accounting Activities:* * Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. * Prepare balance sheet reconciliation analysis for critical accounts on a monthly basis (i.e. WIP, Intercompany, Accruals). * Conduct variance analysis and identify trends, providing insights and recommendations to senior management. * Collaborate with various departments to gather financial information and ensure accurate and consistent reporting. * Monitor and analyze key financial metrics, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities. * Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the General Ledger for multiple entities under the Onyx umbrella. * Participate in team stand-ups, providing advice on general accounting matters, internal controls, and processes. * Fully participate in the year-end process and act as a liaison with auditors. * Prepare and analyze audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors during the audit process. * Prepare government filings (HST, Corporate Tax) and ensure all statutory requirements and tax liabilities are met. * Assist in the development and implementation of financial reporting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the integrity of financial data. * Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required by senior management. * Drive process improvements by identifying inefficiencies and implementing solutions to enhance financial reporting and analysis. * Assist in cash flow forecasting to ensure the company's liquidity needs are met. * Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff to foster their development and ensure accurate financial reporting. *Required Skills and Qualifications:* * Bachelor?s degree in accounting is required. * Candidates must have or be near completion of their Canadian professional accounting designation (CPA) * 4+ years of accounting experience. * Experience in a service-based business is an asset. * Strong work ethic with excellent communication skills and a personable approach to staff. * Superior analytical and financial analysis skills. * Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. * Advanced Microsoft Office skills. * Proficiency in financial software systems and ERP platforms, with a preference for experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. * Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI is an asset. * Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. * Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality. *What Onyx-Fire Protection Services Inc Offers:* * Opportunity to work closely with different leaders at Onyx * A family-oriented and collaborative work environment. * Room for professional growth within a rapidly expanding Canadian fire protection organization. * Benefits package after 3 months of employment. * Open door culture. * Exposure to senior leadership team. *Why Onyx-Fire?* We?re not just a company ? we?re a community.
