*JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT*

*POSITION SUMMARY:*
Reporting to the Controller, the Junior Accountant will be responsible for data entry of a high volume of accounts receivable invoices and banking related procedures. This role includes maintaining and updating general ledgers and credit balances, as well as performing numerous card and bank reconciliations
*CORE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:*
* Post and reconcile a high-volume of customer payments to general ledgers.
* Perform monthly bank reconciliations and close-outs.
* Post A/R data to profit/loss reports, balance sheets, income statements, and other documentation required.
* Review all credit balances, refunds, and adjustments, and apply adjustments and/or corrections to corporate billing records.
* Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records as they relate to the organization and its customers.
* Perform billing procedures daily and ensure accurate invoices are being processed.
* Prepare and record bank deposits and ensure the deposits are taken to the bank.
* Monitor and reconcile visa statements and post transactions into Spectrum in a timely manner.
* Perform and prepare reconciliations and reports as required.
* Investigate issues related to credit cards and billing related items.
* Analyze and provide recommendations related to department policies and procedures.
* Ad hoc duties as assigned.
*EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:*
* Minimum 2+ years of accounting experience is required.
* Experience working in the construction industry will be considered an asset.
* Completion of post-secondary education in accounting or a related field.
* CPA designation or working towards the designation will be considered an asset.
* Experience with SAP/Concur will be considered an asset.
* Experience with Spectrum software will be considered an asset.
* Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
* Critical thinking and effective decision-making skills are required.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to work with changing priorities, work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
* Strong communication skills both verbal and written as well as electronically.
* Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
* Must be able to manage priorities, perform a variety of tasks and meet targets.
* Ability to travel to site if required.
