Job Posting Competition #: N1218-02 Womens Shelter Worker Casual Posting date: December 18, 2024 - December 31, 2024 Summary: The Shelter Worker demonstrates knowledge of and empathy for women and children fleeing interpersonal violence in a non-judgmental, caring and loving environment. Responsibilities Client Careo Complete client intake & dischargeo Provide client support, referrals, safety planning and advocacyo Manage crisis interventions o Provide transportation as required Daily Operationso Cleaning, cooking & general household maintenance o Answer Crisis Lineo Uphold house regulationso Maintain security protocols Facilitationo Ensure opportunities for life skills & educationo Provide opportunities for recreational activities Administrative Dutieso Maintain client fileso Gather confidential data & documentationo Attend meetingso Perform general office duties Community Relationso Ensure donations are recorded, sorted and washed prior to storageo Deliver community presentations QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of Grade 12 and 2 years experience in the human services field Life experience surviving Domestic Violence and moving on w 2 years of healthy living are an asset. A combination of education and experience required to fulfill the duties above Crisis management skills are an asset Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, nights and weekends Demonstrate knowledge of and empathy for victims of interpersonal violence Must live within the service area of North East Outreach and Support Services Inc. Possess a valid Saskatchewan drivers license Must be prepared to provide a criminal records check, vulnerable persons check- LocationMelfort, SK
