Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work setting: Machinery installation. Repair. Overhaul. Machine set-up. Shopwork. Tasks: Assemble mechanical equipment. Assemble stationary industrial machinery. Coach and instruct apprentices. Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Repair or replace defective machinery parts. Perform routine maintenance work on machinery. Program programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Installing machinery and equipment. Operate hoisting and lifting equipment. Commission systems and components. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification. Equipment and machinery experience: Hydraulic system. Pneumatic system. Pumps and compressors. Area of specialization: Rigging and handling. Troubleshooting. Bearing, seals and packing. Programmable logic controller (PLC). Welding. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence.
