We are seeking a full-cycle bookkeeper to join our small team on Vancouver Island. Our candidate should possess communication, organization, and office skills. The qualified candidate must be able to work unsupervised, meet deadlines, and perform full-cycle bookkeeping duties and other administrative duties as needed. They must also be able to work independently and be flexible with hours, responsibilities, and duties.

*MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
* Perform full cycle bookkeeping
* Updating books to 2024 (Years 2021-2023)
* Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivables
* Prepare bi-weekly payroll
* Reconcile accounts, credit cards, bank accounts, monthly vendor statements
* Post & maintain journal entries
* Work with the contract bookkeeper on monthly reconciliation and annually on the year-end.
* Prepare tax remittance, workers' compensation, and tax return
* Strong Quickbooks & MS Office 365 (Word & Excel) & Google Suite
* Attention to detail & organized
* Administrative tasks as required
_*REQUIRED*_ EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
* Accounting Diploma or Degree
* QuickBooks Online (Advanced) & Core Payroll: 3-5 years
* Bookkeeping: 3-5 years
* Experience in environmental consultant business (preferable)
_*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES*_
* Must have a strong understanding of accounting principles and concepts
* Experience with QuickBooks (Advanced, preferable), Core Payroll and MS Office 365
* Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise diplomacy and discretion
* Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy without supervision
* Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
* Excellent time management skills to prioritize multiple projects/tasks and meet deadlines
* Language, English, spoken and written (Required)
_*JOB TYPE: PART-TIME *_
Part-time hours: 20 per week, hybrid work (Victoria), ideally Vancouver Island; will consider the Lower Mainland for the right candidate.
SHR doesn?t have a head office; the successful candidate is responsible for providing their workspace.
Salary: $27-$32 per hour based on experience
Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours per week with the possibility of extension.
Assigned to: Environmental Manager
Targeted Start Date: Jan 20, 2025 or until a suitable candidate can be found.
End Date: Ongoing

Pay: $27.00-$32.00 per hour
