*Overview*
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team.
*Duties*
* Cash Receipts: The successful candidate will take responsibility for recording cash receipts in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring precision and consistency.
* Bank Reconciliations: You will handle multiple bank account reconciliations, tackle errors, follow up on open items and efficiently identify and promptly identify any unusual transactions.
* AR Collections: An essential part of this role is working with our sales team and customers to address AR follow-up collections, problem-solving, and updating AR aging reports.
* Margin and Yield Analysis: The candidate will perform weekly and monthly margin and yield analysis, pointing out problem areas, assisting management with troubleshooting, and identifying corrective actions.
* Inventory Management: The successful candidate will cooperate with divisional managers on the task of inventory costing, reviewing ending inventory valuations for accuracy, and identifying possible issues.
* Financial Statement & Balance Sheet Analysis: You will also be expected to prepare monthly financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations, correct errors and provide variance explanations to budget/prior periods.
* Accounts Payable: Our ideal candidate will efficiently code and post entries into our accounting software, work with the purchaser to investigate and resolve unauthorized charges, and maintain active on going communications.
* Government Reporting: Lastly, the candidate will create and submit necessary reports to governing bodies, ensuring compliance with regulations.
Requirements
* Solid communication, technology, organizational, and analytical skills.
* 1-3 years experience: working to complete professional accounting designation
* Working knowledge of Canadian ASPE
* Excellent technical skills in data management, and Excel reporting
* Knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
* IT related knowledge is beneficial
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
