*ACM Fitterer Ltd., Chartered Professional Accountants is looking for an Accounting Technician to join our growing public practice firm in Nanaimo BC.* *About ACM Fitterer Ltd.* ACM Fitterer Ltd. is a Nanaimo-based public practice accounting firm providing assurance, tax, estate planning, and advisory services. It is our belief that a healthy work life balance will foster a positive relationship between co-workers and clients alike. *Your Key Responsibilities* Reporting to senior associates, you will be working with a wide range of clients, providing a personal approach to advisory for small to medium-sized businesses. Your responsibilities will include: * Preparing client engagements including working paper files, financial statements and tax returns * Preparing T1 personal tax returns and T3 trust returns * Preparing T4?s and T5?s * Preparing GST / PST/ WCB Filings * Bookkeeping for small businesses *Your Qualifications* You possess strong technical accounting and tax knowledge and are comfortable learning new systems and technology. Your qualifications include: * Have at least 3 years experience working in public practice / full cycle accounting; * You are proficient with Caseware, Profile, Microsoft Office, Quickbooks, and Sage; * You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and have experience interacting with clients in a positive and professional manner; * You are very organized, punctual, and detail-oriented * You work with speed and accuracy, without requiring active supervision; * You are friendly, personable and able to build positive working relationships with your co-workers and clients; * You have the ability to exercise good judgment in recognizing scope of authority of engagements and projects and protecting confidential information; * You work well in teams and are supportive of the growth and development of your team members; * You have a strong desire to learn and the ability to take initiative and to be proactive. *Your Benefits* * Competitive compensation package * Banked overtime hours * Continued professional development * Comprehensive health, medical and dental benefits Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year Benefits: * Casual dress * Dental care * Extended health care * On-site parking * Paid time off * Vision care Schedule: * Monday to Friday Experience: * public practice: 2 years (preferred) Work Location: In person
