*We are looking for an experienced Pharmacist to join our team in Kelowna, British Columbia. This role suits candidates looking to work in fast-paced setting and enjoy a variety of work spanning blister packs (community and group homes), chronic disease management, and minor ailments. You will work collaboratively with other pharmacists, technicians and nurses in the pharmacy and enjoy the benefit of working in a pharmacy that has a great reputation among health care providers in the community. *
*The pharmacy is 100% locally owned and operated - no head office or quotas. I will pay you 20% of the revenue generated from patient-focused services in addition to your hourly wage. Other benefits include extended medical and dental, life insurance and College fees paid. Compensation includes a generous hourly wage, commission on PFS, and bonuses. *
*Shifts are 8 or 9 hours and may start between 6-10am and end no later than 6pm. One weekend per month is required. We use a "pharmacist-first" workflow so the troubleshooting and counselling are completed initially - minimal dispensing and final checks necessary. *
*Candidates must be Registered Pharmacists currently practicing in British Columbia to qualify and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.*
Pharmacist Duties & Responsibilities (ie: Job Description)
* All required responsibilities of a Full Pharmacist per BC College of Pharmacists legislation plus a strong understanding of providing pharmaceutical care to homes and facilities accredited by the Community Care and Assisted Living Act
* Filling, checking and dispensing medications accurately
* Provide all appropriate pharmacy services, including patient counselling and follow-up
* Minor Ailment and Contraception Services
* Injections (publicly-funded and private-pay travel vaccines)
* Opioid Agonist Treatment
* Oversee entry of prescriptions through Kroll to ensuring all required documentation is adequate and appropriate including billing and third-party risk mitigation
* Supervise pharmacy assistants as necessary
* Actively seeks out new and innovative ways to improve processes and expand business opportunities and assist leadership with assessing and improving financial performance
Required Qualifications & Skills
* Licensed to practice as a Full Pharmacist in British Columbia providing direct patient care, injection certification and OAT-CAMPP
* Minimum 2+ years work experience in community pharmacy in British Columbia
* Proficiency in Kroll
* Strong knowledge of third party insurance plans including PharmaCare
* Excellent customer service, decisive problem solving and conflict resolution skills
* Ability to physical stand for extended periods of time
