Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Noisy. Work setting: Kennel. Tasks: Bathe and shampoo animals. Document animal behaviour. Monitor animal behaviour. Prepare food and feed animals. Clean and disinfect cages, pens, aquariums, kennels, runs, stall and enclosures. Keep records of animals treated. Assist with inoculation and treatment of animals. Assist animal breeders to handle and nurture animals. Clean animal ears. Maintain and order supplies. Clip animal nails. Perform dental cleaning on domestic animals. Dog training expertise: Obedience. Canine behaviour problems/modification. Obstacle agility. Search and rescue. Tracking and discrimination. Area of specialization: Animal husbandry. Animal specialization: Domestic animals/pets (cats, kittens, puppies, dogs, etc.). Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Fast-paced environment. Standing for extended periods.
