Glenmore Christian Academy (GCA) is a private Alberta accredited Christian school located in the Southwest of Calgary, Alberta, specializing in the education of children in grades K-9. GCA is a member of AISCA (Association of Independent Schools and Colleges in Alberta) as well as ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International). GCA?s mission is to Teach Truth, Inspire Excellence, Experience Christ and Serve through Love. GCA has a head of school, two principals and a staff of over 120 serving approximately 1000 students. GCA has an opportunity for a maternity leave, 1.0 FTE Elementary Music Teacher . Under the direction and mentorship of the Elementary Principal, this individual will teach grades K to Grade. This position is a term contract starting in early 2025 (January or February) to June 27, 2025 with the potential of extending the contract for the 2025/2026 school year. Characteristics Successful applicants will possess the following characteristics:? A vibrant Christian faith, demonstrating the leadership of Jesus Christ? The ability to make Biblical values an integral part of school life? Clearly defined and well thought out assessment beliefs? An understanding of brain learning strategies is considered an asset? Prepared to work collaboratively with other teachers and support staff as a member of a professional learning community? Have strong, positive interpersonal skills? Be willing to contribute to the school?s extracurricular program? Efficient, highly organized, and capable of multitasking? Ability to make sound judgment and decisions Qualifications ? Agrees to and adheres to the GCA Statement of Faith ? without reservation? Is able to clearly express his or her faith and relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour? Bachelor of Education? Alberta Permanent or Interim Certificate? Alberta Letter of Authority Skills ? Teach students using lessons, discussions, audio-visual presentations, digital delivery and field trips? Design effective strategies to meet the children?s diverse learning needs? Effective communication skills? Ability to handle confidential information? Fluent in English and conversational proficiency in French? Excellent English written and oral communication skills? Proven attention to detail, organizational and documenting / tracking skills, as well as analytical problem-solving abilities Preferred Experience?
