Job details
Education: Master's degree. Work setting: Consulting geology, geophysics or engineering firm. Tasks: Conduct theoretical and applied research to extend knowledge of surface and subsurface features of the earth. Develop models and applied software for the analysis and interpretation of data. Identify and advise on anticipated natural risks. Plan analytical studies of core samples to identify chemical, mineral, hydrocarbon and biological composition. Plan, direct and participate in analyses of geological, geochemical and geophysical survey data, well logs and other test results, maps, notes and cross sections. Plan, direct and participate in geological, geochemical and geophysical field studies, drilling and geological testing programs. Recommend the acquisition of lands, exploration and mapping programs and mine development. Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. Computer and technology knowledge: ArcGIS. Realize modelling and simulation exercises on computerized units. Data manipulation and analysis. Mapping and data visualization software. Field work location experience: On land. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Excellent written communication. Flexibility. Team player.
