Our advantages include outstanding outdoor recreation, an abundance of locally grown food, and good transportation corridors to larger communities.Position OverviewThe Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) is now accepting applications for a temporary full-time Planner I position based out of its Salmon Arm, BC office starting February 3, 2025 to August 28, 2026. Under the general direction of the Manager, Planning Services, the Planner I is responsible for responding to a variety of land use enquiries directed to the Development Services Department. The Planner I receives, documents and processes land use applications from a basic to intermediate level of complexity, provides information on departmental policies and procedures, and serves as a key team member in the Development Services Department.Qualifications Grade 12 or equivalent supplemented by a Degree in Planning or a related discipline. A minimum of two years of work experience in Planning or related field, preferably in a local government environment. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Valid BC Driver?s License.Additional InformationPosition Type: Temporary full time (35 hour work week)Term: February 3, 2025 to August 28, 2026Union: CUPE Local 1908Salary Range: $2,683.29 to $2,964.95 bi-weekly (January 2024 rates)Hours of Work: Typical hours Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM(Option to work an additional half hour and participate in flex schedule).
