You will need to be adaptable and able to change your course of action quickly. At genAG, teamwork is a value we stand firm on, while at the same time working independently is necessary for some tasks and strongly desired. We are currently looking for a full time Agricultural Equipment Technician in Portage la Prairie, reporting to the service manager. This position will be a mix of on the road and in the shop, with a main focus on the road. RESPONSIBILITIES:Diagnose problems and determine what repairs are neededPerform any inspections requiredRepair, service or assemble any machinesKeep accurate, easy to read records of work performed and make up service quotes as neededMaintain a clean work area including the machine being servicedMaintain safe work habitsCheck and report any shortages and malfunctions to the Service Advisor.Maintain and care for all shop tools, machines and equipmentSuggest any additional repairs needed to Service Advisor and/or CustomerDress in uniform provided at all timesHelp maintain cleanliness, neatness and safety of building and lot.Give special attention to repeat repairs or comebacks to correct problems and avoid future shop comebacks and unnecessary expenses.Help control expenses and produce as much quality work as possible genAG Inc. OTHER:Must be available on call during peak seasonsAny other duties assigned by Service Manager by requestMust provide own hand tools to efficiently perform jobsMust be comfortable working in tight or confined spaces and heightsComfortable and efficient with technology and computer skillsMust have time management skillsMust have 5 years experience SAFETY RESPONSBILITIES:Understand and follow legislation and workplace safety and health requirementsFollowing safe work proceduresUse safety equipment, machine guards, safety devices and personal protective equipmentReport unsafe acts and workplace hazardsReport accidents, near misses, injuries, or illnesses immediatelyWork and act safely and helping others to work and act safelyCo-operate with the workplace safety and health committee and others on safety and health issues. COMPENSATION:• Competitive wagesTool/Boot Allowance for service and parts only• Group benefits:Life InsuranceShort term and Long term disabilityExtended Health CareVisionDentalEmployee Assistance ProgramGreat work environmentRRSP matching programContinuous training and development program Interested in joining our Team?
