We believe equity empowers each learner to thrive, holistically.<p>We invite applications for the temporary position of:<p>Health & Safety Occupational Claims and Appeals Coordinator <p>Under the supervision of the Health & Safety Manager WorkSafe Injury Management this position: Provides effective Disability Case Management of Occupational illness/injury claims in accordance with WorkSafeBC; <p> Communicates with key stakeholders to facilitate the safe and timely return to work for ill/injured employees; <p> Assesses Monthly Claims Cost reports for accuracy; <p> Maintains online statistical database for several School Districts; <p> Researches then prepares submissions for WorkSafeBC Review Division and WCAT Appeals. The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications: Completed Grade 12 and (2) two years Post-Secondary Education; <p> Minimum of (3) years previous experience, including one (1) year on the job with WorkSafe BC, short-term disability or long-term disability processes; <p> Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; <p> Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook); <p> Net typing speed of fifty (50) words per minute. The successful applicant will be expected to: Maintain a high quality of work including accuracy and dependability;<p> Possess good organizational and analytical skills;<p> Maintain a professional approach during pressure situations such as high workload volume or calls of an emotionally charged nature;<p> Successfully complete the District's clerical assessment;<p> Complete the required District's Health and Safety training.This is a temporary full-time position starting as soon as possible until October 24, 2025, working 35 hours per week at a wage rate of $35.01 per hour.<p>Temporary employees earn 5% of straight time earning in each pay period in lieu of statutory holidays and 5% of bi-weekly earnings in lieu of vacation.<p>Once a temporary employee gain seniority (after 120 days of work), 10% in lieu of benefits and paid leaves is provided each pay period.<p>Qualified candidates are invited to apply online at www.makeafuture.ca with cover letter and a detailed resume, including three (3) professional references (names and phone numbers) and copies of certifications.<p>This position will remain open until a successful candidate is identified; however, applications received prior to 8 a.m. on December 12, 2024, will be assured full consideration.<p>We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for interviews will be contacted.<p>
