We have grown exponentially since our inception 21 years ago and are excited about our future. *Job Summary* Join our team as a skilled Journeyman Electrician with a focus on telecommunications. In this role, you will be a key contributor to the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include the deployment and upkeep of critical electrical components vital for communication networks, encompassing tasks such as wiring, cabling, and associated equipment. This exciting position provides an opportunity to work with cutting-edge telecommunications systems to ensure optimal connectivity and functionality. As a valued team member, you'll adhere to industry standards, troubleshoot network issues, and actively contribute to the enhancement and expansion of telecommunications networks. *Duties and responsibilities* * *Telecommunications Infrastructure Installation:* Deploy and install electrical components required for telecommunications infrastructure, including wiring, cabling, and associated equipment. Other low voltage systems will include security, access control, CCTV, AV, etc. * *Blueprint Interpretation:* Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings to determine layout and installation of wiring, equipment, and devices. * *Network Connectivity:* Ensure optimal connectivity of telecommunications systems, with a focus on maintaining high-quality, reliable communication networks. Work with our in-house IT team to ensure systems functionality. * *Compliance with Standards:* Follow industry standards, manufacturer guidelines, and regulations to guarantee the proper installation and maintenance of electrical systems in alignment with telecommunications and low voltage requirements. * *Troubleshooting and Repairs: *Diagnose and resolve electrical and connectivity issues efficiently to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted systems services. * *Documentation:* Maintain accurate records of all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities. Complete necessary documentation and reports. * *Collaboration:* Work closely with other team members, including project managers, contractors, and IT support personnel. * *Emerging Technologies:* Stay informed about advancements in telecommunications technology and apply knowledge to enhance network efficiency and performance. *Qualifications* * Possession of a valid Journeyman Electrician certification * Possession of Fall Arrest certification. * Proven experience in the installation and maintenance of electrical systems specifically related to telecommunications. * Proficiency with specialized tools, including multi-meter, and data cable testers. * Familiarity with telecommunications systems, equipment, and protocols * Knowledge of alarm and access control systems is advantageous. * Familiarity with various low voltage cable types, terminations, and testing procedures. * Strong ability to effectively listen and communicate with both technical and non-technical personnel. * Commitment to following and promoting safety practices in telecommunications environments. * Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. * Clean driving record with a valid driver's license and experience driving vehicles with trailers. *Working conditions* * Ability to work out of town for short and/or long durations, which may involve overnight stays or extended travel. * Willingness to travel to customer sites, including different locations and potentially long commutes. * Flexibility to work all days and hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and overtime to meet project needs. * Capability to work in extreme temperatures
