Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Wholesale establishment/store. Tasks: Arrange product according to planogram. Establish and maintain contact with suppliers. Maintain adequate stock levels. Negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms and transportation arrangements with suppliers. Oversee distribution of merchandise to outlets. Review requirements of establishment and determine quantity and type of merchandise to purchase. Select and purchase merchandise for resale. Supervise work of other buyers. Supervision: 3-4 people. Specialization/experience (business sales and services): Sales. Buying. Merchandise needs analysis. Product selection. Negotiation. Distribution. Pricing. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Personal suitability: Accurate. Judgement. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?.
