*Building Multicultural Communities (BMC)* is a charity established in 1987 that provides settlement and social services to newcomers, immigrants and the larger community in the Peel Region. Formerly known as Brampton Multicultural Community Centre, BMC?s mandate is to enable less advantaged individuals, families and groups to reach their full potential, enhance their life skills, and create a better future. BMC has a variety of specialized programs that cater to specific demographics and focus on providing different services such as (Settlement, Mental Health, Youth Development, Employment, and Seniors Support) making BMC a one-stop-shop for needed services. The Retention Specialist will collaborate closely with the IESD Program Coordinator to ensure the successful implementation of the Integrated Employment Services program within Peel Region WCG EO programs at BMC. This involves handling financial and data management procedures and ensuring their consistent implementation.
*RESPONSIBILITIES*.
* Oversee and maintain data, administrative procedures, and systems to support employment retention programs and services for Peel-based Employment Ontario programs.
* Provide support to BMC EO staff on post-employment case management, documentation standards, and program compliance, including developing post-employment Action Plans and subsequent data entries into client tracking software and systems.
* Report program activities and recommend strategies and activities to the Management Team to improve program administration, efficiency, and effectiveness. Support the implementation of recommended strategies to meet or exceed program targets.
* Support regular and program audits to ensure program procedures comply with Service System Manager/WCG requirements for monitoring phases.
* Implement marketing and outreach strategies to connect with employers. Communicate with potential employers to enhance awareness about the program and employment support services available to them
* Liaise with community professionals and employers to create competitive employment opportunities for clients
* Negotiate Employment and Training Incentives and other supports with employers
* Maintain a comprehensive employer database which includes eligibility, record of site visits, employer profile and all other relevant data
* Analyze and evaluate labour market information on a regular and consistent basis
* Assist with compiling reports on Employment Ontario program results.
* In consultation with BMC management, conduct orientation and training of new staff specific to the Employment Ontario Retentions program, particularly regarding data and documentation collection and submission.
* Perform other duties as assigned, including staff supervision, support of site activities, and support of other managers/activities as required.
* Attend staff and training sessions and represent BMC at networking/partnership meetings
* Any other related duties complementary to the job
* Reports to the Executive Director or their designate
*QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS*
* B.A./B.S.W. and/or three years related experience working as a Job Developer and/or in a marketing, business
* Must demonstrate contacts in the business and labour communities
* Demonstrated knowledge of job development techniques, sales presentations and sales closing techniques, client matching and marketing techniques
* Proven experience in working with people who are unemployed and underemployed and knowledge of the challenges faced by individuals with significant barriers who are entering the labour market
* Experience delivering training and mentoring clients in job development, job search, interview and other related job search skills
* Well-organized team player who can take initiative, manage change/transitions with the ability to prioritize and multi-task and meet deadlines and ta
