The Program Coordinator operates a program for children/youth, and is responsible for staff who are on site 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide structure and guidance. The goal of the program is to provide a stable, safe, and supportive environment for those staying within the program/unit, while also allowing them to integrate into the community. Program Coordinators demonstrate strong initiative, excellent problem solving skills and the ability to be creative, while managing multiple priorities.
*The primary responsibilities of the position include:*
* Develops, implements, monitors and evaluates the operations of the program, ensuring compliance as per licensing requirements agency policies and procedures, and best practices for client-centered care within a safe and therapeutic milieu;
* Oversees and supervises the activities of staff including but not limited to hiring, training, directing, and monitoring staff. Responsible for staff scheduling to ensure proper coverage is maintained at all times, and will fill in as a front-line staff as required;
* Evaluates employee performance, conducting regular supervisions and developing of staff including performance management, with the support of Human Resources where required;
* Monitors the status of required staff licenses and certifications;
* Maintains records on program activities and other pertinent information, prepares a variety of operational and business reports, and associated correspondence;
* Acts as a liaison within multi-disciplinary teams, both internal and external to the agency regarding client needs and services-youth focused activities such as appointments with clinicians, CFS Social Workers, medical appointments etc.;
* Oversees the facilitation of specific therapeutic intervention (i.e. psychotherapy, behavioral modification, cognitive behavioral, group therapy, etc.) at the direction of the clinical and/or medical team.
* Participate in rotational on-call duties as required.
*Qualifications:*
* Undergraduate degree in a social services discipline (other combinations of education and experience may be considered).
* Minimum of four years? experience working with high risk youth, including youth who have been sexually exploited
* Minimum of one year supervisory or team lead experience in a 24/7 residential care environment
* 3 years? experience in a supervisory position preferred.
* Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, a clear Child Abuse Registry Check, and acceptable Prior Contact Checks.
* Valid driver?s license and acceptable driver abstract.
* Valid Emergency CPR/First Aid Certification.
* ASIST Certificate (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training), NVCI, Mental Health First Aid, Safe Talk, preferred.
* Experience working within a trauma-informed care model and resilience framework.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and lead healthy teams.
* Ability to function in a computerized environment.
* Excellent mental and physical health.
* Knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and beliefs will be considered an asset.
