* *Customer Service*: Bartenders are responsible for providing excellent customer service. This includes greeting customers, taking drink orders, and engaging with patrons in a friendly and professional manner.
* *Mixing Drinks*: Bartenders must have a strong knowledge of various cocktails, mixed drinks, and other beverages. They should be able to accurately mix and prepare drinks according to customer preferences and recipes.
* *Pouring Drinks*: Bartenders are responsible for pouring beer, wine, and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. They must ensure that each drink is poured accurately and in accordance with local laws and regulations.
* *Inventory Management*: Bartenders often have to manage inventory, including ordering and stocking supplies such as alcohol, mixers, garnishes, and other bar essentials. They must also keep track of inventory levels and report any shortages or discrepancies.
* *Cash Handling*: Bartenders handle cash and process payments from customers. They must be able to accurately process transactions, handle money responsibly, and provide correct change.
* *Cleaning and Maintenance*: Bartenders are responsible for maintaining a clean and organized bar area. This includes cleaning glasses and barware, wiping down counters, and ensuring that the bar is tidy and well-stocked throughout their shift.
* *Knowledge of Safety and Hygiene*: Bartenders must adhere to safety and hygiene standards at all times. This includes following proper sanitation procedures, handling food and beverages safely, and complying with health and safety regulations.
* *Upselling and Promotion*: Bartenders may be responsible for upselling drinks or promoting special offers and events. They should be knowledgeable about the menu and able to make recommendations to customers.
* *Handling Difficult Situations*: Bartenders may encounter difficult or intoxicated customers. It's important for them to be able to handle these situations calmly and professionally, including knowing when to refuse service or call for assistance if necessary.
