Our mission is to provide high-quality, durable building materials that are environmentally friendly and simple to use. *Position Overview* We are seeking a skilled and innovative Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, developing, and optimizing the machinery and processes used in the production of our sustainable bricks. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for sustainability. *Roles & Responsibilities* * Design, develop, and improve manufacturing processes and machinery for the production of sustainable bricks. * Conduct research and analyze data to identify areas for efficiency improvements and cost reductions. * Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. * Oversee the installation, testing, and maintenance of production equipment. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and R&D, to ensure product quality and operational efficiency. * Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in the manufacturing process. * Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime. * Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. * Participate in the continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing processes. * Stay up-to-date with advancements in mechanical engineering and sustainable manufacturing technologies. *Qualifications* * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field *OR* Relevant Experience * Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer, preferably in a manufacturing environment. * Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and materials. * *Proficiency in Fusion 360 is required.* * Proficiency in Autodesk design and simulation software would be an asset (AutoCAD, Inventor, etc.). * Experience in construction would be an asset. * Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Understanding of sustainable manufacturing practices and principles (preferred). * Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies (preferred). *Application Process* To apply for the position of Mechanical Design Engineer, please submit your resume and cover letter detailing your qualifications and relevant experience to humanresources@plaex.ca.
