<p>Position Description <p>A temporary full time (1.0) Library/Learning Assistant/Secondary Fine Arts Prep Teacher is required by School District No. 60 (Peace River North) effective December 12, 2024 until the return of the incumbent but not beyond June 30, 2025. The assignment will be at Clearview Elementary/Jr. Secondary School.<p>Clearview is a K-9 rural school located 30 minutes northeast from the thriving community of Fort St John. The economy of the area is based mainly on farming, the gas/oil industry, and some logging. The school is nestled on top of a hill that provides a clear view of the rolling hills and vast sky. Of our student population of 110 students, twenty percent are Indigenous students. Our school enjoys itinerant access to a range of services supporting areas such as Inclusion, ELL, Counseling and Aboriginal Counseling<p>Qualifications and Experience <p><p> Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or eligible for)<p> Qualifications and demonstrated ability to teach the identified subjects <p> Experience with universal design and differentiation to meet the diverse needs of students<p> Excellent interpersonal, communications, collaboration and organization skills<p> Experience/training/knowledge of Social Emotional Learning. Demonstrated ability to create a positive classroom community contributing to a safe, caring, and healthy school where every student feels a sense of belonging<p> Strong belief in the philosophy of inclusion and the potential of all students to learn<p> Understanding of the BC Curriculum and ability to plan both short-term and long-term in consideration of class composition<p> Willingness to work in a collaborative model with staff on the foundation of enhancing student learning<p> Demonstrated use of classroom management practices that are pro-active and maintain student dignity<p> Demonstrated use of assessment practices that promote student learning and maintain student dignity<p> Masters in Special Education or working towards<p> Post-secondary education in library sciences<p> Experience as a teacher-librarian<p> Experience with balanced literacy program<p> Ability/experience<p> to carry out a variety of assessment, including classroom observation,<p> administration and interpretation of norm- reference assessment<p> instruments, curriculum-based assessments, and diagnostic teaching<p> methods<p> Ability<p> to implement extensive Individual Education Programs (IEP's) (detailing<p> adaptations and modifications) in consultation with classroom teachers,<p> parents, students and district resource personnel<p> Experience planning with Teachers and Education Assistants<p> Supportive of school planning and direction<p> Committed to professional development<p> Ability/desire to work collaboratively with students, staff and parents<p> Experience/working<p> knowledge of Assessment for Learning, Math Makes Sense, Criterion<p> Referenced Performance based assessment, Guided Reading, Power of Ten<p> and Literacy in Action<p> Ability to differentiate instruction using UDL (Universal Design for Learning) to support varying learning needs<p> Experience/willingness to utilize technology (I-pads) to facilitate/supplement student learning<p> Ability/experience to support students designated with Chronic Health<p> Ability to support teachers within adapted classes in literacy, numeracy and science<p> Wide range of teaching and management strategies<p> Knowledge of numeracy and literacy curriculum at the elementary intermediate level<p> Knowledge of methods for evaluating and selecting instructional materials suitable for students with a variety of special needs<p> Ability/expertise to work with students either individually or in small groups or in a classroom setting<p> Advocacy for and empathy with students with special needs<p> Ability to work with students experiencing learning difficulties<p> Experience/training/knowledge of Positive Behavior Support (PBS)<p><p> <p> Interested a
