Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables. Repair machine tools and parts. Set up and adjust production machineries/tools. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools. Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Machinist Trade Certification. Measuring tools: Micrometers. Callipers. Verniers. Equipment and machinery experience: Boring machines. Engine lathes. Gear cutting machine. Milling machines. Planers. Shapers. Surface grinders. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Public transportation is available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines. Attention to detail. Weight handling: Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
