<h3>Job Description</h3><div>Job Description<div><p><strong>Position Overview </strong></p><p><br />Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Senior Accountant is responsible for end-to-end financial reporting. This includes, but not limited to, end-to-end month-end close, journal entries, general ledger reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, financial statement preparation and report presentation. The successful candidate will have significant accounting experience in the end-to-end processes for month-end close, financial systems, financial report generation and presentation, balance sheet reconciliations and journal entry processing. The position requires an individual who is ambitious, self-directed, and capable of working autonomously and with the broader finance and leadership team.</p><p><strong>Key Duties & Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>Functional Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Perform month-end close procedures, including journal entries, accruals and reconciliations.</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Produce monthly financial statements in line with the timelines for completion.</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Collaborate with the clinical teams to understand the intricacies of procedures and ensure accurate cost allocation. Prepare and analyze case costing to support decision-making.</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Work closely with Accounts Payable and Procurement to ensure the completeness and accuracy of accruals.</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Prepare monthly reporting and remittances for HST.</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Support the annual financial audit process by preparing audit schedules, addressing audit inquiries, and ensuring all required documentation is available.</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Assist in the development and implementation of policies, priorities, and procedures to streamline day to day financial operations.</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Support ad hoc projects and assignments as assigned.</p></li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Corporate Responsibilities: </strong></p><ul><li><p>Participate in all mandatory training requirements</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Be responsible to work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, Policies and Procedures, as well as established industry guidelines.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Skills & Qualifications </strong></p><ul><li><p>Minimum Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Commerce or related discipline.</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Chartered professional accounting designation is an asset</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>2-5 years' experience in full-cycle accounting</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Highly detail-oriented and organized</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Superior analytical and problem-solving skills</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Previous experience with Meditech is an asset</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Advanced knowledge of MS Office with emphasis on Excel (Pivot table, VLOOKUPs, and other formulas)</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Strong understanding of accounting principles (ASNPO)</p></li></ul><p> </p></div>Company Description<div>A large-scale, not-for-profit ambulatory health services centre is being established in Richmond Hill, Ontario, with expected opening in the summer of 2025.
