*Full-Time 1-Year Contract *
Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic offers trauma-informed legal services and representation, counselling and multilingual interpretation, and drives system transformation to support women and gender-diverse people who have experienced violence. Rooted in the foundations of intersectionality, innovation, and a client-centered approach, we foster the skills and resilience of the people we serve and amplify their voices to create individual and collective change.
We are seeking a COORDINATOR for our "Advancing Economic Security of Senior Women Survivors of Violence? Project. This role involves coordinating activities, managing resources, and ensuring the project meets its objectives of empowering senior women, addressing systemic barriers, and fostering economic security and leadership among senior women survivors of violence.
This Project aims to advance the economic security, prosperity, and representation in leadership of senior women survivors of violence in Ontario. The project will address systemic barriers by engaging and empowering senior women, developing an empowerment toolkit, and collaborating with institutions to improve conditions for senior women.
*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *
All duties and responsibilities will be carried out in accordance with Barbra Schlifer Clinic's Mandate, Mission and Values.
*1. PROJECT MANAGEMENT*
* Oversee the planning, implementation, and completion of project activities
* Develop and maintain project timelines, ensuring all milestones are met.
*2. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT*
* Develop and maintain trauma-informed safe spaces for senior women
* Ensure these spaces provide support for healing and rebuilding confidence
* Establish and facilitate a community engagement working group of senior women survivors of violence
* Organize and lead regular meetings to gather insights and feedback from the group
* Ensure the voices of senior women are amplified and integrated into project activities
*3. RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION*
* Coordinate the development of an empowerment toolkit focusing on financial literacy, social media literacy, risk and fraud spotting, and job market readiness
* Pilot the toolkit program and gather feedback for improvements
* Ensure the toolkit is accessible and relevant to the needs of senior women survivors of violence
* Facilitate the creation of video testimonials by senior women participants
* Coordinate the documentation of their journeys, challenges, and successes
* Use these chronicles to raise awareness and promote attitudinal change within communities
*4. COLLABORATION AND NETWORKING*
* Build and maintain relationships with healthcare providers, community service organizations, and the legal and justice systems
* Advocate for policy and practice changes to support senior women
* Facilitate collaboration between stakeholders to address systemic barriers
*5. JOB MARKET ACCESS*
* Work with employers, job placement agencies, and other stakeholders to address employment barriers
* Promote flexible work arrangements and inclusive hiring practices
* Design and distribute infographics advocating for senior women in the job market
*6. MONITORING, EVALUATION, REPORTING, DOCUMENTATION*
* Collaborate with an external evaluator to measure and assess the project?s impact
* Collect and analyze data to ensure project objectives are being met
* Maintain accurate records of project activities, meetings, and outcomes
* Prepare detailed reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
* Ensure transparency and accountability in all project operations
*7. COMMUNICATION*
* Communicate effectively with all project stakeholders, including senior women participants, team members, and external partners
* Provide regular updates on project progress and any challenges encountered
