Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. Hot. Dirty. Work setting: Garage. Tasks: Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements. Test and adjust units to specifications. Perform scheduled maintenance service. Complete reports to record problems and work performed. Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications. Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems. Estimate parts and labour cost to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs . Provide customer service. Repair or replace mechanical units or components. Test automotive systems and components. Road test motor vehicles . Inspect mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions. Discuss work with supervisor. Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Tire, wheel and rim mechanic. Equipment and machinery experience: Welding. Diesel engines. Hydraulic system. Area of work experience: Frame straightening. Front end components. Area of specialization: 4-wheel drive. Standard transmission. Fibreglass repair. Engine repair. Diagnostics. Collision repair.
