Stacked Franchising Ltd. is a growing franchising company representing Stacked Pancake & Breakfast House locations across Canada with its Head Office in Barrie, Ontario. Currently, with 90+ opened locations and aggressive growth ahead, we are looking for a Construction Manager who can assist us with our renovations and new store openings.
*Role Responsibilities*
· Report to the Director of Development
· Go over the landlord's work schedule to make sure that everything is completed before taking possession of the unit
· Go over store deficiencies and arrange with general contractors when it will be completed
· Upload the landlord's work sign-off documentation onto Microsoft Teams
· Arrange to meet up with the landlord to get possession of the unit (key handover)
· Arrange to meet up with construction and franchisee to provide key handover
· Fill out a new site or as-is documentation & upload it onto Microsoft Teams with photo requirements for engineers and general contractors
· Arrange a site visit to confirm the black line and measurements with the landlord and franchisee, especially if there aren?t already base building drawings.
· If landlord work is not completed, arrange a date & time to meet again to confirm completion signoff
· Schedule a site visit 1 week before the opening date
· Follow up with vendors to make sure that they are on time
· Schedule final walk thru
· Be able to manage more than 1 project at a time
· Coordinate and lead regular site meetings
· Communicate with Landlords on deficiencies with the base building
· Manage all phases of construction projects, from planning to completion.
· Collaborate with architects, designers, contractors, and vendors to ensure project specifications are met.
· Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans and permit sets.
· Develop and maintain project schedules.
· Conduct regular site inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
· Address any issues or challenges that arise during the construction process and implement timelines and structure to come up with future solutions on challenges being faced.
· Willingness to travel across Canada for project coordination and site visits.
*Qualifications*
· 1-3 years of experience in a construction manager role
· Very skilled in understanding permit sets
· The ability to read construction drawings, and understand architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical drawings and details.
· Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
· Great personality and willingness to collaborate and contribute to the Development team.
