*TRUCK AND TRANSPORT MECHANIC* *ABOUT SIGFUSSON NORTHERN:* Sigfusson Northern is a third-generation family-owned business, which now has a portion of the company being employee-owned. Ongoing growth and diversification have led Sigfusson Northern to the forefront of general contracting and heavy civil construction where we incorporate trust, respect, integrity, and commitment to our community in every decision we make and everything we do. *POSITION SUMMARY:* Reporting to Truck and Transport Supervisor, the Truck and Transport Mechanic will be responsible to diagnose, repair and service Truck Transport equipment. They will use computerized diagnostic equipment to do preventive maintenance and test vehicle performance. *This position will be located in Lundar, MB. Camp accommodations will be provided for those located out of town.* *CORE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:* * Attend daily safety and pre-shift meetings * Ensure safety is a top priority while performing all duties and responsibilities * Troubleshoot and determine diagnosis on truck and transport equipment including testing and adjustments * Conduct safety inspections on vehicles as per The Highway Traffic Act and perform necessary repairs * Perform routine maintenance on equipment * Update and maintain the maintenance records * Other duties as assigned by supervisor *EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:* * Journeyman Red Seal Truck and Transport Technician Certification is required * MOPIA Certification or the ability to obtain is required * Experience with CAT S.I.S, ESA, Service Ranger and Cummins is mandatory * Must be physically fit to perform the Truck and Transport Technician job duties and requirements safely * Must hold a valid driver?s license * Must always keep safety a top priority * Basic knowledge of cutting, welding, fabrication, and air systems is required * Must be willing to work outdoors * Strong written and verbal communications skills is required * Ability to work independently and as part of a team is required * Ability to self-start and take initiative on tasks * Critical thinking and effective decision-making skills are required If you are interested in this opportunity and meet the requirements for the role, please click *Apply* and send your resume directly to *Corie McKay.* Job Types: Permanent, Full-time Benefits: * Dental care * Extended health care * Life insurance * Paid time off * RRSP match * Tuition reimbursement * Vision care Schedule: * Monday to Friday Work Location: In person- LocationWinnipeg, MB
