*Overview*
The Developmental Service Worker plays a crucial role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. This position involves assisting clients in daily living activities, promoting their independence, and ensuring their overall well-being in various settings such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospice care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care and have the ability to create a positive environment for those they serve.
*Duties*
* Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
* Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
* Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences.
* Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
* Support clients in engaging in social activities and community involvement to enhance their quality of life.
* Document client progress and report any significant changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
* Collaborate with nursing staff and other caregivers to develop and implement individualized care plans.
*Skills*
* Strong background in patient care, preferably with experience in nursing homes or hospice care settings.
* Knowledge of medication administration protocols and safety practices.
* Excellent meal preparation skills that cater to diverse dietary requirements.
* Experience in home care or caregiving roles is highly desirable.
* Ability to maintain a clean environment while ensuring the comfort of clients.
* Compassionate demeanor with strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to handle challenging situations calmly.

Pay: $19.83-$22.83 per hour

* CRAE SUPPORT: 2 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
* G CLASS LICENCE AND CLEAN DRIVERS ABSTRACT (required)
