Position: Recreation TherapistLocation: Bobby's HospiceClassification: Part-Time (Temporary)Term: December 1, 2024 - March 31, 2025 - with opportunity for permanent appointment beyond March 31, 2024.Description: Bobby's Hospice is looking for a Recreation Therapist interested in supporting our palliative care services in an exciting pilot project, which could transition into a permanent contract. Supporting our interdisciplinary team of Palliative Care professionals, the Recreation Therapist will focus on direct patient and family support to help maintain their quality of life while easing their emotional, spiritual and/or psychosocial distress. Bobby's hospice is open to friends and family and supported by numerous volunteers, therefore the successful candidate must be able to work well with others and capable of building strong relationshipsQualifications: ? Undergraduate and/or master's degree in Recreation Therapy or related field.? Certification as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS).? Registered with the Provincial association for the Canadian Therapeutic Recreation Association (CTRA) - preferred.? Clinical work experience, preferably with Hospice or palliative care patients.? Excellent interpersonal skills.? Exceptional attendance record.? Communicates effectively in oral and written English.? Current Basic Cardiopulmonary Life Saving course, preferred.? Knowledge of the Not-for-Profit sector?
