*Job Title: Dental Hygienist* *Location:* Mississauga, Ontario *Overview: Part time - Dental Hygienist* We are excited to invite a passionate and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our esteemed team in Mississauga, Ontario for a part time role! Only Fridays ( 3-4 times a month). The ideal candidate will be dedicated to delivering exceptional dental care and promoting oral health in a supportive and professional environment. If you are committed to providing high-quality patient care and are enthusiastic about advancing oral health practices, we would love to hear from you. *Key Responsibilities:* * *Dental Cleanings and Procedures:* Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to maintain and enhance patients' oral health. Assist dentists during various procedures, ensuring patient comfort and procedural efficiency. * *Patient Education:* Provide patients with comprehensive education on effective oral hygiene practices, preventative care, and maintaining optimal oral health. Address patient questions and concerns to foster a better understanding of their dental health. * *X-Ray Imaging:* Take and develop high-quality dental x-rays, ensuring clear and accurate imaging for diagnostic purposes. Adhere to safety protocols to protect patients and staff from unnecessary radiation. * *Record Maintenance:* Accurately maintain and update patient records, including treatment notes, x-ray documentation, and medical histories. Ensure that patient information is handled with confidentiality and precision. * *Periodontal Care:* Conduct periodontal charting and screenings to assess gum health and detect any signs of periodontal disease. Implement appropriate care and treatment plans based on findings. * *Preventative Treatments:* Administer fluoride treatments and apply sealants to protect patients' teeth from decay and erosion. Provide detailed explanations of these treatments to patients. *Skills and Qualifications:* * *Experience:* Previous experience in pediatric dentistry is preferred. Familiarity with orthodontic procedures is also beneficial. * *Software Proficiency:* Proficiency in dental software such as Dentrix or similar platforms is essential. Ability to effectively use software for patient records and scheduling. * *Medical Terminology:* Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry to facilitate effective communication and accurate documentation. * *Customer Service:* Excellent customer service skills with a focus on providing exceptional patient care and building positive patient relationships. * *Work Environment:* Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a dental office environment, collaborating with team members and adapting to varying patient needs. * *Bilingual Proficiency:* Bilingual proficiency is a plus, enhancing communication with a diverse patient population. * *Additional Experience:* Previous experience in dental assisting is advantageous, providing a broader skill set and understanding of dental procedures. *Why Join Us?* Our practice in Mississauga, Ontario, is committed to excellence in patient care and fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
