Our Division & Communities Foothills School Division (FSD) serves the learning needs of approximately 8000 students from preschool to grade 12. We operate 22 public schools, an online digital school, an alternative campus, and three colony schools. These are located in the towns of Okotoks, High River, and Diamond Valley, and the communities of Blackie, Cayley, Heritage Heights, Red Deer Lake, Longview, Millarville and Foothills County. F SD is located on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy and the first peoples of southern Alberta including the Siksika, Piikani, Kainai, Tsuutina, and Stoney Nakoda First Nations. This land is also the proud home to the Mtis Nation of Alberta Region 3. FSD stretches from the city of Calgary's southern border and east of Kananaskis Country in Foothills County. The Opportunity We are inviting applications from innovative and visionary educational leaders for the Principal at Cayley School, as well as Cayley Colony, McMillan Colony and High River Colony Schools to commence December 2024. Join us on our journey to ensuring that education is at the center of a flourishing community within the division and the broader community. Cayley School is located in the town of Cayley, this is a community-focused K-8 school and serves a student population of 100 students with a teaching staff of 6 and instructional support staff of 7. Cayley and MacMillan Colony Schools are located West of the town of Cayley. High River Colony School is South of the town of Blackie. These schools are multi-aged and each has its own culture. The student populations numbers are 27, 23, 8 respectively.In accordance with AP 430 System Leader and School Leader Staffingthe following school leader profile reflects the leadership competencies, attributes, skills and knowledge required for the role of principal.
