Nunavut schools are currently focused on improving literacy outcomes for all students and ensuring students learning experiences are culturally relevant and respectful. Located in the picturesque hamlet of Whale Cove, Inuglak School serves the community of Whale Cove. The school has a population of approximately 170 students in a K-12 setting with a staff of 21. The school and community are steeped in a rich history of Inuit culture.Required qualifications: Bachelor of Education degree<p> Teaching certification acceptable for Nunavut teaching certificate<p> Minimum of 3 years successful teaching experience <p>Desired qualifications: Experience and / or training with current assessment methods<p> Evidence of differentiated instruction and inclusive practices<p> Experience and / or training in classroom management practices and the development of positive learning environments (e.g. Restitution, Tribes, Positive Effective Behavior Supports, etc.)<p> Cross-cultural and/or northern teaching experience<p> Training and / or teaching experience in an ESL environment<p> Evidence / experience building positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, stakeholders<p> Successful experience in conflict resolution<p> Using data analysis to support student learning <p> Computer knowledge and experience with administrative software <p>Please note: Government housing may be provided and sharing may be required. <p>Salary and Nunavut Northern Allowance: The salary for certified applicants ranges from $83,643 prorated/annum to $131,151 prorated/annum.
