NL Health Services has two full time Family/Emergency Medicine positions available at Placentia Health Centre, Placentia, NL. Community Placentia Health Centre is a 24-hour emergency, Category B facility. Located along the south west coast of the Avalon Peninsula, Placentia is approximately 130 km from Newfoundland and Labrador's capital city, St. John's (roughly an 80 minute drive). The most direct route from the Trans Canada Highway (TCH). If you are travelling from the ferry terminal at Argentia, Placentia is mere minutes away, along Route 100. For more information regarding Placentia, Rural Avalon, please visit: www.placentia.ca Job Summary Successful applicants are accountable for the provision of comprehensive health care services. The services include: family medicine clinics and Category B emergency room coverage, including emergency care and patient transfer. Physicians are expected to provide an equal distribution of call responsibility in the local Category B emergency room and Longterm care inpatient duties, and general practice clinics. Required Qualifications Medical Degree Deemed eligible for licensure to practice by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador. For more information visit cpsnl@cpsnl.ca or www.cpsnl.ca Satisfy credential and privilege requirements of NL Health Services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check Remuneration The salary for this position is in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association (NLMA) and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador . The annual salary range is (Step1) $163,812 to (Step 3 ) to $177,333 with eligibility to bill the Category B incentive rates recently set out by government. Starting salary will be based on years of clinical experience. Health and dental benefits are available in addition to vacation plus other various leaves including family and study leave in accordance with the current Memorandum of Agreement. Free hospital accommodations are available for the first 3 months of employment. Relocation NL Health Services is prepared to provide assistance to offset expenses related to relocation contingent on the execution of a return-in-service agreement. To be eligible for reimbursement, the incumbent must remain employed with NL Health Services for a period of 24 worked months. Relocation expenses will be approved in accordance with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador Relocation Policy.
