Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: At heights. Confined spaces. Noisy. Dusty. Outdoors. Work setting: Construction. Renovation. Commercial. Industrial. Institutional. Residential. Residential construction. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Prepare, measure and mark surfaces to be covered. Estimate materials, tools and equipment required for projects . Ensure compliance to drawings, specifications and building codes. Assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs. Read blueprints and drawings. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Working at heights training. Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Tight deadlines. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Accurate. Reliability. Team player. Values and ethics. Punctuality.
